From June 2008, the new Local Area Agreements (LAAs) will be the principal means by which the Public Service Agreements (PSAs) are delivered. The indicators will significantly reduce burdens on reporting - the single national set of indicators will replace around 1,200 current measures.
The National Indicators were announced alongside the Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR07). Following a consultation on the detailed definitions, these were published early in 2008, for implementation from April 2008. A reporting mechanism has been established to ensure that data only needs to be collected once.
This reporting mechanism is the Data Interchange Hub - 'The Hub'.
The Hub has been introduced with two main aims:
The completely new structure will aid analysis and policy making, facilitate benchmarking and reduce unnecessary repetitive data inputting. The Hub will gather published information from across government to provide a one-stop location for all stakeholders.

News and information including timetables for submission and availability of National Indicator data is now contained on the Hub website at the following location: https://www.hub.info4local.gov.uk/DIHWEB/HubCommunications.aspx
