Flood recovery

Following the major flooding incidents in June and July 2007, the Government has been committed to ensuring that affected areas of the country recover as soon as possible.

The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hazel Blears, continues to take close personal interest in the progress of this recovery, and is keen to ensure that local authorities and communities receive the help they need to restore normality to their local areas.

Floods Recovery Minister John Healey has co-ordinated the Government-wide recovery effort, which includes a substantial financial support package for flood-hit areas.
